The HCPC is the statutory regulator of all practitioner psychologists in the UK.  Always check the register before using or employing a Clinical Psychologist. Anyone using the term Clinical Psychologist in the UK without being registered with the HCPC may be breaking the law.

British Psychological Society

The BPS is the main professional body in the UK representing the broad fields of psychology, its research, teaching and application, and aims to convey and promote the highest standards of psychological knowledge to the public and wider society.

Great resources to find directories of specific types of practitioner psychologists, (e.g expert witnesses, child psychologists, etc), to find out more about psychology, the BPS’s perspective and input to the key and current themes in society, and to read up on career paths in psychological fields.

EMDR association of UK and Ireland

Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based effective talking therapy for people affected by trauma, anxiety and a broadening range of psychological problems. All accredited EMDR practitioners in the UK and Ireland will be registered on this web-site. You can also find out more about what EMDR involves and what a person could expect when attending EMDR sessions.
